Spiritual Gifts Inventory

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12:1, "Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant."  The document below is a tool to help you discover your spiritual gift. Refer to 1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 for biblical references to spiritual gifts.

This document is just a tool.  It's not perfect by any means, but is helpful as you determine how God has especially gifted you as a believer in Christ.  Remember, once you know your spiritual gift(s), you are to employ them in the service of God's kingdom.

     I.  Answer each question rather quickly. Don’t get too introspective with any one question. The longer you spend with a question the less accurate your answer will be.

II. Answer each question honestly. Answer how you REALLY are, not how you think you should be or what you think God wants you to be. For instance, statement #59 says, “I am greatly concerned about comforting others.” If this does not describe you, you might be tempted to score yourself high anyway just because you think everyone should be greatly concerned about comforting others. But remember, God gifts some people with a special gift of mercy that you may not have. So answer the question as you actually are.

III.  Get a better understanding of your gifts by reading their descriptions.

So, open up the document and print off the first couple of pages.  Feel free to go further in the document and discover where your passions and experiences are and how they might relate to ministry within the church.  Let your pastor know of your giftedness and he will help you plug in to a ministry in your church.
